What makes Father's Day so special to us

Here at Cupitt's we have many dedicated, hard-working and committed dads working for us, they often spend the day at work looking after lots of families, but we thought we would ask them how they love to celebrate Father's Day.

Griff Cupitt, Founder and FarmerRosie and I usually head out to the winery for the Sunday Session. In the last few years, Tom has played with his band Soul Tonic, which is always good. The family often come back to our place at Narrawallee for dinner and something special from the cellar - a riesling with oysters and a cabernet with dinner. Now with so many grandkids in tow, it is sure to be a lively day and always nice to spend time as a family regardless.

Tom Cupitt, General ManagerFor father's day, I would like a sleep-in followed by breakfast in bed and a trip to the beach with the kids. Nothing fancy later on, except for a bbq and a few beers followed by a glass or three of nice red wine.

Wally Cupitt, Head WinemakerFor my first father's day as a dad, I hope to (finally) get a sleep-in, breakfast of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, and spend time with Remy. Hopefully, by midday, have cracked a couple of Duvel's, one of my favourite beers. Maybe meet up with dad and Tom for a roast and a few nice wines from the cellar (and a few more Duvels).

Jonathon Pryor - Lead ChefThe best thing about Father's Day for me would be; Waking up to sounds of excitement coming from my kids making breakfast. They always make me breakfast in bed and make me feel super special. The smiles and love on their faces when they walk in holding the huge tray between them is the best present of all. Everyone then piles into bed, and we laugh and joke while sipping hot coffee and usually a huge stack of waffles with chocolate ice cream. The kid's handmade cards and gifts are the things I cherish the most about Father's Day. I then head to work and ensure all the other Fathers and families visiting us at Cupitt's have a fantastic time and experience.

Then it's home to have dinner around the table and watch a family movie on the couch with pillows, blankets, chocolates and a glass of red wine.

Liam Jackson, Head Brewer An early morning ride to start the day. A nice breakfast back home. It's not exactly healthy but pancakes with bacon, banana and maple syrup is a bit of a favourite of mine. Then out for a bushwalk somewhere with the family. Chilled out arvo back home, playing with the kids in the garden, followed by some sundowners. Maybe even a fire pit. Then the real dilemma: pizza and IPA, or rich roast/stew and a big red from the cellar?

Jon Louth, Assistant Brewer Pancakes with maple syrup made by the kids for breakfast, then out for a bush or coastal walk to explore somewhere new in the area with the family. Back in time to kick up my feet and enjoy the footy with a tasty beer.

Glenn Gauld, Maintenance TeamI'm ever grateful for the miracle of being a Dad to our 5, even more so now being a granddad of 3. (Keep 'em coming, I say). Poppa G. That's me now and forever. If I'm not working at the best winery on the South Coast, my ideal Father's Day is two single-origin Ethiopian coffees with my beloved. (Sausage roll on the side never hurts, either.) A sunny motorbike ride along the headland to meet the kids and grandkids at the beach for major plays on the sand and in the waves. Endless laughs and stories with the family whilst devouring a BBQ seafood feast. Followed by a ride back home to the beach barn (quick dash into the liquor store for a bottle of bourbon whisky). Ending this magic day with my beloved's famous mushroom risotto for dinner. Then a strum on the old 6 string sipping an old-fashioned before a twist and a shout to end the day.

Gavin Dorrell, Garden and Farm TeamBreakfast made by the two boys followed by a drive to one of our favourite local Beach or lake spots with my brothers and dad and mum for a picnic and hangout.

Whatever you choose to do for your dad this fathers day, we hope it's the best one!
