Martini is the King of Cocktails

The Martini is probably one of the most renowned cocktails, it's just two ingredients, but there are many possibilities. Gin or Vodka? Vermouth, but how much? Shaken or stirred? Two elements but the devil's in the details.

Many debates and articles have been written around the ‘right’ way to make a. The Martini is a drink with which people have a lot of strong opinions. But beyond those essential ingredients, there is no‘right'way to make a Martini; there's just personal taste.

At Cupitt's Estate, we have been upping our martini game with Sohi Sprits made in the Southern highlands accompanied by Regal Rogue Vermouth. You can use any London Dry Gin of your choice, and Noilly Pratt Vermouth is found everywhere and great for a dry martini.


Our Martini recipe 

60ml Sohi Garden Envy GinorSohi Extra Virgin Vodka

10ml (or barspoon) Regal Rouge Daring Dry Vermouth

Add all ingredients to the mixing glass. Add large, cracked ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Lemon twist, olive, or cocktail onion (akaGibson) for garnish.


Sometimes a coupe of Gin or Vodka may seem like a solid start to your lunch, but you may want something a little lighter. This summer, we have devised a Reverse Martini, which flips the classic reversing the proportions to have more Vermouth than Gin. Our recipe is made with locally distilledTara Still Pot Ginand the very prettyRegal Rogue Wild Rosé Vermouth. You can use any gin or vermouth you have on hand.

Reverse Martini 

60ml Vermouth 

30ml Tara Pot Gin  

Add all ingredients to the mixing glass with ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with Lemon or orange twist
