A successful & exciting 2024 Vintage!

This year's vintage kicked off early, blessed with warm weather during the late ripening stage and minimal rainfall in the month leading up to harvest, creating optimal conditions for grape cultivation.

From the Hilltops region, we received a diverse range of grapes, including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Riesling, Viognier, Rousanne, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Fiano, and Vermentino.

Tumbarumba experienced warm conditions, resulting in a successful harvest of alpine varieties such as Gruner Veltliner and Gewurztraminer, along with burgundy varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gamay. We were fortunate to obtain a beautiful parcel of Arneis from the Canberra district, which managed to avoid the frost that affected the region.

On March 12th, we received our final fruit parcels, marking the culmination of the fastest vintage to date. This year's harvest presented a stark contrast to the previous cooler years, showcasing a distinct warm climate character across most varieties, with ripe flavours and softer acidity. Despite the whirlwind pace, our dedicated team worked tirelessly to process the influx of grapes, led by winemaker Wally Cupitt. The wines are already displaying great promise, and we eagerly anticipate the exceptional quality of this vintage.
