Help us and 'Brave the Shave!'

Meet the local legends who are raising funds in the lead-up to our head-shaving event!

Our very own Winemaker, Wallt Cupitt is stepping up to lose his locks. "I’m happy to get behind such a good cause, and I was definitely inspired by Pete's sexy melon from the last time he shaved his head for the Cancer Support Foundation". Rest assured, our wines will not be impacted due to his lack of hair.

Back with his second head shave in a row, Peter King is not only raising funds but donating his hair to 'Sustainable Salons', who will then use it for wigs. "Seeing friends and family and cancer's impact on their lives, raising funds and donating my physical hair is the least I can do. I love that all the money raised stays local and helps our neighbours."

Peter has also roped his Mum, Lesley King, into joining in this time! "Many people fundraising commit to something, whether that be walking, running, abstaining from alcohol, etc., to show their commitment to the cause. People who know me well also know I am pretty vain when it comes to my hair, so taking this BIG step outside my comfort zone, I hope, shows how much I care about helping. This time, as well as supporting the foundation, I also get to do the shave with my son Peter, and that's pretty special. Will I get emotional? Absolutely! Emotions for the family and friends who have battled and are still battling cancer, and gratitude for all the love and support shown for this fundraiser. It will be a great afternoon at Cupitt's, and I am really looking forward to being a part of it all".

Our maintenance man, Chris Twomey, is also braving the shave. "It's such a great opportunity to be able to do something positive that directly supports people within our community. It's special to be involved in something with such amazing people. Definitely looking forward to the afternoon out at Cupitt's."

Our local RSF member, Chase Organ, played a major role in our community when battling the 2019 bushfires and is now helping his community battle their ongoing fight with cancer.

"The reason behind my haircut is mainly that Pete managed to build up the courage to do it once before and is now doing it again. Why not support a mate in doing something so 'bald' (see what I did there)? Another reason for shaving it all off is if it is long enough to donate and make a hairpiece. I’m sure that it will help bring a smile and confidence to someone who needs it".

We invite everyone to come along to the 'Brave the Shave' Event to help support these wonderful people and such a much need cause.

Join us at Cupitt's Estate, May 21 from 12pm.

Bring the kids along and let them join in by getting their hair sprayed for a gold coin donation.
