The Cupitt Family Celebrate 15 Years

The Cupitt Family have been operating for over 15 years. This Spring, we are hosting a series of events to celebrate all the good times and accomplishments. We have asked each family member what they are most proud of and what they see as the company's future direction.

Rosie Cupitt - Founder, Head Cheesemaker

I am proud the local community sees Cupitt's as a place to enjoy their special occasions and pop in regularly for something casual. We pride ourselves on being a family business that looks towards innovative and enjoyable experiences for our guests and promotes the beautiful region we live in.

Personally, it is satisfying to see how the business has thrived from such a small beginning, and it provides our family with the opportunity to work and live together in the Milton Ulladulla area. Our children grew up on the nearby beaches, and now our grandchildren will also.

Additionally...I am proud Tom, Libby and Wally have become part of the business as I didn't create it as a family business...they fell in love with the idea and the industry and have added so much since. They have made the growth at Cupitt's Estate.

Future direction:

I see our future in the continued production of our great wine and beer, the delivery of delicious food with a focus on using local produce, and offering a warm and friendly environment for our guests.

Griff Cupitt, Founder & Farmer

I am pleased the business is family focused and run, as I love the connections and familiarity it creates.

Tom Cupitt, General Manager

What am I most proud of:

I am proud of our positive impact on our community by providing employment opportunities for over 100 locals and being a place where people forge special memories with friends and family.

Future direction:

I see us growing our beer and wine production, finessing the accommodation offering while staying true to our warm, friendly, accepting and authentic roots.

Wally Cupitt, Head Winemaker

What you are most proud of?

Following my dreams and starting the brewery. Being part of the continued growth and quality improvements with the wine, sticking to our guns and producing a style of wine that we are proud of and not conforming to the mass market norms.

Future direction?

I would love to expand the estate-grown vineyards, over the years we have gained a better understanding of what will grow in this region and think there is huge potential for a couple of varieties/styles, would love to build more of a unique appellation in the area. I don't think we have much ambition to grow much more in size, but we want to channel any growth into improving all aspects of quality and experiences here.

Libby Cupitt - Strategic Partnership Manager

What you are most proud of?

Our venue plays a special role as a meeting place for so many people, and it’s the customers that keep coming back and supporting us time and time again, bringing their growing families and friends to enjoy a special meal or choosing our restaurant for special occasions. Some of our customers honestly feel like family.

Future Direction?

Our staff we have a team of over 100 people, and we want to keep them happy and help them grow their careers. The passionate people who work in our business make everything possible for us by delivering great experiences to our customers and helping us evolve and improve continuously. We secretly all want to build a distillery …watch this space.
