Exclusive Wine Club releases!

Our members' favourite wine was the 2021 Pointer Chardonnay. While this wine was unavailable last run, we heard your feedback and are pleased to offer you exclusive access to our 2022 Pointer Chardonnay before anyone else.

2022 ‘The Pointer’ Chardonnay

The 2022 ‘The Pointer’ Chardonnay is complex, sophisticated and delightful. On the nose, brioche, apple, and vanilla aromas mingle with zesty notes, creating an inviting bouquet. The wine is made using a wild ferment on full solids and is aged for 11 months in French oak hogsheads on ferment lees, with 30% new oak and batonage (lees stirrring). The extended lee’s contact has added depth and richness to the wine, making it an excellent candidate for aging.

On the palate, the wine is citrus-driven with green apple, mandarin, grapefruit, and pineapple characteristics. The wine is well-structured, with a P58 French oak influence that adds depth and complexity. When young, the wine has pronounced grapefruit flavours, which will develop into honey and toasted flavours as it ages.

This Chardonnay is very versatile and would complement a wide range of dishes our suggestions include seafood dishes such as grilled or poached fish, shrimp scampi, crab cakes, or lobster, roasted chicken or a creamy pasta.

2022 Sauvignon Blanc

Indulge in this crisp Sauvignon Blanc, grown in the cool climate region of Tumburumba. This wine boasts a tropical fruit aroma that will transport you to a lush paradise, with every sip evoking memories of warm breezes.

On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc offers a broad range of perfectly balanced flavours, but not overly fruity like Sauvignon can sometimes be.

This Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect wine for any occasion with its soft, fruit-driven palate and mineral finish.

2022 Fiano

The Fiano is made with wild ferment, native yeasts, on full solids and then aged for 10 months in 500L puncheons made from a mix of Hungarian and French oak on ferment lees, which adds to its complexity and intensity.

On the nose, you'll notice floral aromas and hints of nectarine that will make your mouth water. As you take your first sip, you'll taste toasty oak, raw honey, hazelnut, nashi pear, lemon, citrus, and stone fruit flavours, making it the perfect wine for any food-driven occasion.

The waxy texture and orange zest/peel provide a smooth mouthfeel that will leave you wanting more. The round mouth and long lingering finish make this wine a true standout, with a broad and creamy palate that will satisfy you. Its complex and intense flavours make it a perfect complement to various dishes; a delicious pairing is roasted chicken and vegetables.

Merlot 2021

The Merlotperfectly captures the essence of the region's unique terroir. This Merlot has been carefully matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, which gives it a depth of flavour that is truly remarkable.

On the palate, you'll immediately notice the concentrated flavours of juicy little black currants, raspberries, and ripe plums, which are perfectly complemented by subtle hints of dried herbs and spicy oak.

The natural acidity and fine tannins give the wine a smooth and balanced finish that will linger on your palate long after the last sip. This Merlot is a perfect match for a wide range of dishes, from hearty stews and roasts to grilled meats and vegetables.

2022 ‘Il Bacetto’ Pinot Nero

Named after the Italian tradition of air kissing on both cheeks, 'Il Bacetto' Pinot Nero is a delightful wine sure to please any palate. Made with de-stemmed fruit and wild ferment using native yeasts, this wine is a true expression of the land it comes from. Aged in French oak hogsheads, it boasts a peppery, spicy aroma that gives way to soft fruit flavours of cherry and strawberry on the palate. With its light colour and fresh fruit characteristics, this wine is perfect for those who appreciate a lighter, more nuanced wine.

On the nose, this wine reveals spice and pepper notes, hinting at the complexity of flavours to come. On the palate, there is a beautiful tension that balances the soft fruit flavours with a hint of acidity, creating a refreshing and satisfying wine. This wine is similar to our Little Red wine, with all the complexity and depth you would expect from a more robust wine.

To fully appreciate the wine's unique qualities, we recommend pairing it with a range of dishes, from earthy mushroom risotto to grilled salmon with a cherry glaze. Alternatively, enjoy a glass of 'Il Bacetto' Pinot Nero on its own, savouring its complex and nuanced flavours as they evolve in the glass.

2022 Tempranillo

We are very excited about showing you the pre-release of our Hilltops Tempranillo. The aroma has oak and leather, layered with an uplift of fruit and violet, carried through to the palate.

This wine is soft and easy to drink on the palate, with an unmistakable flavour of ripe dark cherries. The finish is long and luxurious, with a smooth velvet texture and a hint of dark chocolate that lingers on the palate.

"I have a feeling I'll be drinking quite a bit of this yummy wine this winter," says Libby Cupitt; "perfect for a cosy night in and will pair well with slow-cooked proteins and casseroles". Grilled portobello mushrooms or roasted root vegetables would be a great pairing choice for a vegetarian or vegan option.Â
