What Dad Actually Wants This Father's Day
Every dad has his thing.
Some will tell you they don't want a present, while quietly hoping you've remembered. Some want a long lunch with the family and no responsibility for the washing up. Others are happiest outside with a cold beer and something good playing.
So before you panic buy, here's what we'd do.
Start with lunch
The best gift most dads get is everyone around the same table for a few hours.
We're open for lunch this Sunday with Soul Tonic playing live. It's à la carte, so nobody's stuck with a set menu, and Dad orders what he actually feels like. Crispy Pork Belly, a delicious steak, tiramisu- the choice is yours. Just add some estate-made wine, local beer, and views across the farm.
We've still got tables, so if you've left it late, you haven't missed out.
For the dad who knows what he likes
If he's a red drinker, our Father's Day pack is $95. A bottle of Cupitt's Estate Reserve Shiraz and two Cupitt-branded Plumm glasses, ready to go in a beautiful hamper. It's the easy one.
If you'd rather choose for him, the Malbec, Shiraz and Cabernet are the three our Cellar Door team reach for most. Come in and tell us what he drinks and we'll point you at the right one.
For the dad who deserves a bit more
We have three reds available in a magnum.
A magnum is 1.5 litres, so twice a normal bottle, and it's a proper present. It's the one he puts away for a birthday, or opens when everyone's over, and there's no point starting small. Impossible to find in any bottleshop. Easy to remember.
For the beer dad
Our Lager and the Hazy Pale are the two that go quickest. Pick a few of each, add a Cupitt's T-shirt or jumper, and that's a good gift sorted in about five minutes.
For the dad who's impossible to buy for
There's always one.
Come into the Cellar Door and tell us about him. What he drinks, what he'd never drink, whether he's a beer man who's slowly come around to red. We'll put a hamper together for you on the spot, wrapped and ready. It takes a few minutes, and it beats a voucher, though we've got those too if he'd genuinely rather choose himself.
