News from the Winery

It's that time of year again, folks! The 2023 vintage is finally upon us, and we are excited! The whites have already made their way from the grapevines to fermenters and barrels, and we've even got our hands on some mouth-watering Pinot Noir from Tumburumba. Believe us when we say the wine looks absolutely gorgeous, boasting the most beautiful colour and a bouquet of aromas that'll have your nose twitching in delight.

We take pride in our winemaking techniques, and this year is no different. We've been fermenting a portion of fruit as whole bunches and doing some good old-fashioned foot stomping to extract that extra flavour and tannin. 

We'll be honest; the yields have been lower than we hoped. But, on the bright side, this has only made the quality of our wines all the more impeccable. We can hardly wait to start processing the reds - Dusty Dog Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Tempranillo, and Sangiovese. 

And let's not forget about our 2022 vintage - it's finally been bottled, and we couldn't be prouder. This year has been unlike any other, with the wines boasting outstanding quality we can't wait for you to try them to believe it!

We won't lie; the grape growing season for the2023 has been challenging. We had a very wet Spring, but, despite the challenges, our growers have pushed through, working tirelessly to mitigate disease and ensure that the final stages of ripening are as perfect as can be.

Vintage time is an excellent time to pop into our Cellar Door and taste some of our new releases. We highly recommend our Arnieis, Riesling, Chardonnay, Fiano, and Viognier - they're all showing off a beautiful mineral character this year while maintaining their intense varietal flavours. And as for the reds, well, the cooler growing conditions have created flavours and tannin profiles that are refined, intense, and elegant.
